The Best Karaoke Songs Of 2011 – Country And Pop

Another year has passed us by so it’s a good time to look back on the year to see which songs topped the charts for the year 2011. In our review last year there are reviews that are similar to ours. Our review is unique in that it provides what people were looking to sing in 2011 and not only what they were listening to. It is impossible to be 100% accurate but we feel the following list gives an excellent overview of the best songs that was released in 2011 and that Karaoke singers were asking for.

2011, Top Karaoke Pop Songs

#1 # 1 Rolling In The Deep – Adele (Many people assume Adele as a black artist because of the sound of her voice, however she’s definitely not. Her vocals is high-pitched vocals with the feel of emotion behind every note. This is precisely what a good singer wants from an album. The main challenge for anyone singing who sings ‘Rolling in the Deep is to convey the emotion and emotional intensity that Adele puts in her original version. Of course, you could do it, but you won’t be in the same league as the vocals of Adele and still be a hit with your fans when you’re a 6-year old girl singing this track in your entirety, just like Alexa Narvaez on YouTube with currently over 13 million views.)

#2 #3 Someone Like You – Adele (Yes, Adele comes in with one of the two top Pop songs for 2011. “Someone Like you” is a song that speaks of someone coming to accept that her past lover has left her. She wishes him all the best and sings that she will find someone like him while claiming that she has come to terms with the circumstances of their split, but clearly making it clear that she is not. Maybe this song got so well-known because we have experienced heartbreak just like the song is about.)

3rd – Party Rock Anthem – LMFAO with Lauren Bennett & Goonrock (Well I was thinking that LMFAO must be a band, with possibly each letter in the name of the group representing one of their members. Man, am I ever out of the loop. LMFAO is an abbreviation for LMFAO, which stands for Laughing My Freaking Ass Off. LMFAO really is a couple consisting of Motown founder’s Berry Gordy’s youngest son Stefan Redfoo grandson Skyler named SkyBlu. The song was one of the most loved dance songs throughout the entire year. If it’s enjoyable to dance to then it must be enjoyable to sing along to.)

#4 – On the Floor #4 – On The Floor Jennifer Lopez & Pitbull (If you remember the Lambada from 1989 , you’ll probably be able to hear the beat that was borrowed for the main song’s riff. What are we expecting from Jennifer Lopez’s next hit single? Maybe a revamp of the riff that was featured in “Islands In The Stream” or “Afternoon Delight’.)

#5 5 You And I – Lady Gaga (Unlike the majority of the Lady Gaga’s songs and maybe a little less successful as some of Gaga’s dance hits This song was also demanded as a song for karaoke. ‘You And I’ is a bluesy rock and country ballad that is a slight homage to the classic Queen song “We Will Rock You.”.)

#6 – Moves Like Jagger – Maroon 5 with Christina Aguilera (This song has a catchy hook and was popular among the karaoke crowd, and what makes it so appealing is that it is both male and female duet.)

#7 7 Mr. Know It All – Kelly Clarkson (The original American Idol remains in high demand five studio albums years later. This track again draws on the power of vocals, and the hook ‘you don’t know anything about me that will be stuck in your head long after the last note of the song is played.)

#8 – Lighters – Bad Meets Evil & Bruno Mars (Bad Meets Evil is an emcee duo made up of the rappers Royce da 5’9″ and Eminem. The duo was formed before Eminem was able to achieve mainstream fame in 1999. The duo broke up in 1999. apart and have since been reunited. Lighters is an alternative hip-hop track distinct from hard-core rap especially with the added singing by Bruno Mars.)

#9 We Found Love – Rihanna (Rihanna has once more risen to in the Top 10 of her charts, this time with a popular dance song. There are many versions of this song that also list Calvin Harris in the credits but we have not heard a duet or any version with singers other than Rihanna’s.)

#10 – I Do – Colbie Caillat (Like Colbie Caillat’s first single Bubbly, this song is a happy, happy-go-lucky sunny day song that focuses on elevating relationships to the next level. The perfect song for the romantic who’s optimistic.)

Honorable Mention:

Mistletoe – Justin Bieber (Some people may be wondering the reason Justin Bieber is once again not among the list of top 10. He also didn’t make the top ten list with any of his songs in 2010, possibly because even though his songs are popular, when it comes to singing them, they will have an enviable audience. The karaoke versions of his songs made more sales than any other artist in 2011; Justin Bieber was the top-selling Karaoke artist in the year. The release in the final season of ‘Mistletoe’ nearly made the top 10. It was highly requested throughout November and the month of December. Many long for a fresh, new holiday song and this song filled that gap.)

Best 2011 Karaoke Country Songs

#1 #1 Dirt Road Anthem – Jason Aldean (This song is about rural life, but also adds an element of ‘country. Very popular tune and choice for singers in karaoke.)

#2 # 2 – Just Fishin #2 – Just Fishin’ Trace Adkins (This song is about a father and daughter fishing together. Another great country tune that pulls on your heartstrings.”)

3. Country Girl (Shake It For Me) – Luke Bryan (This song is quite different from the earlier success by Luke Bryan ‘Rain Is A Good thing’. The title is a sure clue that this track isn’t a ballad, nor an anthem. It is a coming-right-at-you dance tune that caught on and became popular among those who frequently requested song in the world to perform.)

#4 4. Hell On Heels”Pistol” Annies (There are songs which are cross-overs between country and pop; songs that can be played both on the Pop Charts and the Country Charts. Not this song, it’s clearly a country track. The Pistol Annies make a statement of a woman’s wrath, singing’sugar daddy I’m coming’ for You’. )

#5 – You lie – The Band Perry (Another country tune about an unhappy relationship. You lie like an Persian rug, like an ox enjoying the sun, like an unintentional penny in the parking lot. It seems many a country song is about that painful feeling when they realize that their spouse doesn’t really matter (and people just love to sing about it.)

#6 #6 Honey Bee – Blake Shelton (This popular tune was a hit with the Billboard 100 as well as being ranked at the top of the country charts. The wide appeal that the track has (and its popularity because people were singing it) helped put it into the top ten on our selection.)

#7 – The Barefoot Blue Jean Night – Jake Owen (This song is a reminiscence of the fun one experienced on his summer in the south, barefoot blue jean night. The song’s co-star Frankie connected with a Cadillac with an horn over the top of the car! )

#8 Story Of Us – Taylor Swift (an upbeat tempo song which by its title could indicate the song would be about a happy marriage. However, the chorus sings ‘the story of us is tragic now.’)

#9 – This Is Country Music – Brad Paisley (Though not as commercially successful as some of Brad Paisley’s previous hits”This is Country Music represents what many believe an American song is about. Fans of country music are proud to say that their music has something to do with its lyrics or message that isn’t common in a pop tune.)

#10 – Just A Kiss Lady Antebellum (Lady Antebellum songs are popular in the karaoke world because of their duet ability. The way that Charles Kelley and Hillary Scott effortlessly switch between lead vocals in the original version makes many singers look to duplicate the effect in the version for karaoke. The problem is finding two singers who have the same vocal capabilities as Lady Antebellum’s lead singers.)

This time, another year has given us an abundance of new music. Therefore, you, the karaoke singer, have to quit performing the same tunes over and over. It is not a good idea to subject people to another time of singing the same song that you sing week in and week out, no matter how good you are at singing that song. There’s plenty of exciting new karaoke music to choose from. Sometimes it can seem as if there’s not any new music on the market. But it could be the this is due to your routine and have been listening to your ‘iPod or other music player with pre-determined choices in music. Start making it a habit of listening to radio or switching on a music channel more often, then you’ll be able to discover a wide range of new selections to choose from.
